Art Dubai 2027 at a glance

Art Dubai is the leading global platform for art from the Middle East and Global South, held annually at Madinat Jumeirah under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The 2027 edition takes place 7–11 April 2027. The 2026 anniversary edition drew over 25,000 visitors — a record — with leading international, regional and local museums, institutions and private collectors attending.

The fair spans contemporary, modern and digital art across sections including Bawwaba and Zamaniyyat, bringing together more than a hundred galleries from dozens of countries, presented in partnership with Dubai Culture and A.R.M. Holding. Its audience is discerning: collectors, curators, museum directors and institutions for whom presentation quality is everything.

An art fair booth is unlike any trade-show stand — it is closer to a gallery wall, and the finish has to be flawless. As a Dubai-based stand builder, SOL Dubai builds gallery-grade booths for Art Dubai with the precision, lighting and security that presenting valuable artwork demands.

What an Art Dubai booth has to do

At an art fair, the booth must disappear so the art can speak. That means immaculate, gallery-white walls with a perfectly smooth, painted finish; precise, museum-quality lighting that flatters each work without glare; and a calm, considered layout that lets collectors view pieces properly. Any flaw — a visible seam, an uneven wall, a harsh shadow — undermines the work and the gallery's credibility.

Beyond presentation, the booth has to handle valuable, sometimes irreplaceable artwork: secure hanging systems, careful handling, and often a private viewing area for serious collector conversations. The best Art Dubai booths combine flawless gallery presentation with discreet space to do business. We build to exactly that standard.

Our Art Dubai booth build process

Gallery-grade booths demand precision at every stage, so every project runs through our structured eight-stage process:

  1. Discovery and brief — we map your works, wall and hanging requirements, lighting needs, private-viewing space and budget, and confirm your booth location and dimensions at Madinat Jumeirah.
  2. Concept and 3D design — photorealistic visuals showing wall layout, hanging positions, lighting and a calm viewing flow, designed so the architecture serves the art.
  3. Costing and approval — a fixed, fully itemised quotation covering walls, lighting and logistics.
  4. Venue approvals and technical drawings — structural and electrical submissions prepared for the fair and Madinat Jumeirah.
  5. Fabrication — gallery-grade walls, smooth painted finishes, secure hanging systems and lighting built and quality-checked in our own workshop.
  6. Pre-build and QA — wall finish and lighting inspected to gallery standard before show build-up.
  7. On-site installation — supervised build during official build-up, with careful coordination around art handling, handed over ready for hang.
  8. Show-day support and dismantling — standby team on call, then careful dismantling and clearance.

Materials and construction

Art Dubai booths are built to gallery standard. We construct solid, true walls with a smooth, professionally painted finish — no visible joints, no texture, just clean gallery white (or the colour the presentation calls for); concealed, secure hanging systems engineered for the weight and value of the works; and museum-quality, individually adjustable lighting that renders each piece accurately without glare or heat damage.

Where a private viewing room is needed, it is finished to the same standard with discreet separation. Flooring is clean and considered, cabling is fully concealed, and every detail is resolved so nothing competes with the art. This is finish-first construction — the kind of precision a collector audience notices immediately.

Gallery and art-fair booth requirements

Galleries and institutions at Art Dubai carry exacting needs: flawless gallery-white walls with smooth painted finishes; secure, concealed hanging systems for valuable works; precise, adjustable museum lighting; and often a private viewing area for collector conversations. Presentation quality is non-negotiable, because the booth reflects directly on the gallery and the art.

We design and build for exactly this standard — true walls, perfect finishes, secure hanging and gallery lighting — with the careful coordination art handling requires. As a Dubai builder, we handle the fair and Madinat Jumeirah approvals, fabrication and installation in-house, giving galleries and national pavilions a single, accountable team for a presentation-critical build.

Booth options and pricing

We build every Art Dubai booth type. A clean single-wall presentation suits a focused solo or small-group showing. A custom gallery booth gives you bespoke wall configurations, museum lighting and a considered viewing flow. Larger institutional and national-pavilion builds add multiple viewing spaces, a private collector room and feature presentation — ideal for museums, institutions and group showings.

Custom Art Dubai booth design and build starts from AED 1,650 per square metre, with the final figure shaped by wall area and finish, the precision of the lighting scheme, any private viewing room, and logistics. Every quotation is fixed and itemised, and full-service delivery gives you one accountable team handling design, gallery-grade build and Madinat Jumeirah logistics from concept through careful dismantling.

Why galleries choose SOL Dubai for Art Dubai

We are a Dubai-based exhibition stand builder with the finishing capability gallery presentation demands, building Art Dubai booths start to finish — design, gallery-grade fabrication, the venue approval process, lighting and on-site installation. Flawless walls, secure hanging and museum lighting, coordinated carefully around art handling, are exactly the kind of precise work our in-house team is set up for.

Clients get gallery-grade build quality, a single accountable team, discretion around valuable works, and a price that holds from quotation to final invoice. For galleries, institutions and national pavilions presenting at the region's leading art fair, our local presence and finishing precision keep a presentation-critical build flawless and on budget.

Building at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai: the rules that shape your Art Dubai 2027 stand

Art Dubai 2027 is held at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, and building there is governed by the venue’s technical rules and the Dubai Civil Defence fire code. We design to all of it from the first sketch and submit the approvals for you.

Stand permit & approval

Your stand drawings need the venue’s technical approval and a permit before build. We prepare and submit the package so you’re cleared to start on the first day of build-up.

Height & complex structures

Standard custom builds work to around 4m. Taller builds, double-deckers and large raised platforms need structural engineering drawings and venue approval, with a structural engineer signing off before build.

Double-deckers

A two-storey stand needs certified structural calculations, a displayed maximum-occupancy figure, a health-and-safety declaration and code-compliant staircases. We engineer, certify and submit all of it.

Electrical power

Mains power is supplied through the venue’s appointed electrical contractor and ordered ahead — you can’t self-wire mains. We design the scheme and order it, including 24-hour supply where you need it.

Rigging & suspended elements

Hung banners and lighting rigs are subject to venue approval and load limits and ordered ahead of tenancy. We design within the limits and file the order on time.

Fire-safe materials & fixings

Dubai Civil Defence requires fire-retardant materials; combustible artificial foliage isn’t allowed and nothing is fixed to the building fabric. We complete and inspect finishes in our workshop.

Accreditation & deadlines

Contractors need venue accreditation and PPE, and submissions run weeks ahead of build-up. We manage the badges, deadlines and venue coordination so nothing is left to a surcharged last order.

01

Permit and Civil Defence first

The venue permit and Dubai Civil Defence approval gate the build, so we file the drawings the week the design is signed off rather than waiting — it’s the paperwork, not the build, that usually delays a stand.

02

Power and rigging come from the venue

Mains power and hung rigging are ordered through the venue’s appointed contractors and confirmed ahead of tenancy. We order them at the advance rate, including 24-hour supply where you need it.

03

Fire-retardant finishes, completed off-site

Dubai Civil Defence requires fire-retardant materials, so we complete and inspect finishes in our workshop and the on-site crew assembles rather than fabricates.

04

Book early — Dubai’s calendar is busy

Build-up slots and venue services fill fast and late orders are surcharged. We lock your window early and coordinate the venue schedule.

Common mistakes, in order of frequency

  1. An oversized logo on the back wall that crowds out the one-line proposition a buyer reads in three seconds.
  2. The same graphic on the front and side panels of an inline stand — the aisle-facing side panel is your most wasted surface.
  3. A counter or sign at the very front that blocks the sightline into the stand and stops buyers stepping in.
  4. Under-ordering power — no 24-hour supply for fridges, screens or live demos, so the stand isn’t ready on opening morning.
  5. Leaving structural, rigging and electrical orders until after the venue deadlines and paying avoidable surcharges.

When and where is Art Dubai 2027?
Art Dubai 2027 takes place from 7 to 11 April 2027 at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It is the leading global platform for art from the Middle East and Global South, spanning contemporary, modern and digital art across sections including Bawwaba and Zamaniyyat, and is presented in partnership with Dubai Culture and A.R.M. Holding. The 2026 anniversary edition drew a record 25,000-plus visitors, with major museums, institutions and collectors attending. As a Dubai-based builder, SOL Dubai builds gallery-grade booths for Art Dubai start to finish, handling the fair and Madinat Jumeirah approvals for you.
How is an art-fair booth different from a normal exhibition stand?
An art-fair booth is closer to a gallery wall than a trade-show stand, and the standard is far higher in finish terms. The booth has to disappear so the art can speak: immaculate gallery-white walls with a perfectly smooth, painted finish and no visible seams; precise, individually adjustable museum lighting that flatters each work without glare or heat; and a calm layout that lets collectors view pieces properly. It also has to handle valuable, sometimes irreplaceable works with secure, concealed hanging systems and careful coordination around art handling. We build to this gallery standard specifically — finish-first construction — because at Art Dubai any visible flaw reflects directly on the gallery and the art.
Can you build secure hanging and museum lighting for valuable works?
Yes — both are central to a proper Art Dubai booth. We engineer concealed, secure hanging systems rated for the weight and value of the works, so pieces are held safely and invisibly. For lighting, we install museum-quality, individually adjustable fixtures that render each piece accurately without glare or heat that could damage sensitive works. Where you need a private viewing room for serious collector conversations, we build it to the same flawless standard with discreet separation. We coordinate the build carefully around art handling during installation, and handle the fair and Madinat Jumeirah approvals. The whole booth is built and finished to gallery standard in our own Dubai workshop before installation.
How much does an Art Dubai booth cost?
Custom Art Dubai booth design and build with SOL Dubai starts from AED 1,650 per square metre. Because this is gallery-grade work, the final figure is shaped by wall area and finish quality, the precision of the museum lighting scheme, any private viewing room, and logistics, along with the size of your booth. A focused single-wall presentation sits near the entry rate, while an institutional or national-pavilion build with multiple viewing spaces and a private collector room costs more. We provide a fixed, fully itemised quotation once we understand your works and presentation needs, and because we design, build and install to gallery standard ourselves, the figure you approve is the figure you pay.
How tall can my Art Dubai 2027 stand be, and do I need structural approval?
Standard custom builds work to around 4m. Taller builds and double-deckers need structural engineering drawings and venue/Dubai Civil Defence approval before build. We prepare and submit the structural package in-house.
Who handles the Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai permits and approvals?
We do, start to finish — the venue’s stand permit and Dubai Civil Defence approval. We prepare the drawings, submit them and manage the approval so you’re cleared to build.
Can I get power and 24-hour supply for my stand?
Mains power is supplied through the venue’s appointed electrical contractor and ordered ahead. We design the lighting and power scheme and order it for you, including 24-hour supply where your stand needs it.
Can I hang a banner or lighting rig above my stand?
Yes, but suspended rigging is subject to venue approval and load limits and must be ordered ahead of tenancy. We design within the limits and file the rigging order on time so it’s approved without a last-minute surcharge.
How much does a Art Dubai 2027 stand cost?
A full-service Art Dubai 2027 stand starts from AED 950/sqm for a modular build, AED 1,650/sqm for a bespoke custom stand, and AED 2,400/sqm and up for large or double-decker builds. Every quote is fixed and all-inclusive with a free 3D concept.
When is Art Dubai 2027 and how early should I book?
Art Dubai 2027 runs 7–11 Apr 2027. Because the best stand positions and production slots go early, we recommend starting 8–14 weeks ahead — earlier for a large or double-decker build.
What’s included in a full-service Art Dubai 2027 stand?
Everything to get you show-ready on one quote: custom 3D design, in-house fabrication and pre-build approval, full graphics, delivery to Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, install and dismantle, the venue permits and Civil Defence paperwork, electrical and rigging ordered on your behalf, and a dedicated project manager.
Do you build double-decker stands at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai?
Yes — double-deckers are a specialism. A two-storey stand roughly adds 1.5 times your usable space with an upstairs lounge or meeting floor, and needs certified structural calculations, a displayed maximum-occupancy figure and code-compliant staircases (venue and Dubai Civil Defence approval). We engineer, certify and build it in-house.
Do you provide on-site support during Art Dubai 2027?
Yes. Our team is on call across all show days for anything from a graphic touch-up to an electrical or AV fix, and larger stands get a dedicated on-site project lead.
What happens to the stand after Art Dubai 2027?
We dismantle and clear the space, and can store reusable elements for your next edition and refresh the graphics — so you’re not paying to rebuild from scratch each year.
