Gulf Print & Pack at a glance

Gulf Print & Pack is the MENA region's leading print and packaging technology trade event, organised by Informa Markets at the Dubai World Trade Centre. It is a biennial show — held every two years — and the 15th edition runs 28–30 September 2026, with the following edition expected in 2028. The 2026 edition brings together more than 8,000 industry professionals and 300-plus exhibitors from over 100 countries.

The show spans the full print and packaging value chain — commercial and package printing, labels, digital textiles, photobooks, display graphics, machinery, materials, inks, coatings, finishing and software — with live machinery demonstrations a central draw. Its audience runs from commercial printers and print service providers to packaging converters and print buyers.

Print and packaging stands are demanding to build because they often stage heavy, running machinery. SOL Dubai designs and builds Gulf Print & Pack stands at DWTC engineered for live equipment, power and the access logistics that machinery brings.

What a Gulf Print & Pack stand has to do

This is a show where buyers come to see machines run. A static stand with brochures cannot compete with a neighbour demonstrating a press or a converting line live. The most effective Gulf Print & Pack stands are built around working equipment — with the power, space and safe circulation that live demonstration demands.

But machinery alone is not enough; buyers making capital-equipment decisions need somewhere to sit and work through specifications, financing and lead times. The strongest stands combine an engineered live-demo area with comfortable meeting space for the considered, technical conversations that drive equipment sales.

Our Gulf Print & Pack stand build process

Machinery-led stands leave no room for improvisation, so every project runs through our structured eight-stage process:

  1. Discovery and brief — we map your machinery, its weight, power and load needs, demonstration and meeting requirements and budget, and confirm hall, stand number and dimensions at DWTC.
  2. Concept and 3D design — photorealistic visuals and a floor plan showing machinery placement, safe circulation, branding and meeting space.
  3. Costing and approval — a fixed, fully itemised quotation covering structure, power and any heavy-load engineering.
  4. Venue approvals and technical drawings — structural, electrical and heavy-load submissions prepared for DWTC approval.
  5. Fabrication in our Dubai workshop — structure, engineered machinery bases, joinery and branding built and quality-checked in-house.
  6. Pre-build and QA — trial assembly, graphics fitting and electrical testing before shipping.
  7. On-site installation — supervised build during official build-up, coordinated with machinery delivery and rigging, handed over show-ready.
  8. Show-day support and dismantling — standby team on call, then clean dismantling and clearance.

Materials and construction

Machinery-led stands put engineering first. We build load-bearing bases and reinforced flooring rated for heavy presses and converting equipment, with correctly rated three-phase power and cable management designed in. Structural elements use engineered aluminium and steel where height or double-decker space is needed.

Branding is delivered through timber-framed custom walls, tension-fabric and acrylic lightboxes and illuminated 3D logos that give a serious, industrial-quality stand a professional finish. Raised platform flooring conceals the substantial power and cable runs that running machinery generates, and durable finishes stand up to a working-equipment environment.

Print and packaging stand requirements

Print and packaging exhibitors carry demanding needs: heavy machinery requiring engineered bases, reinforced flooring and load sign-off; live equipment needing reliable three-phase power; safe visitor circulation around running machines; and meeting space for the technical, capital-equipment conversations that close sales. Coordinating machinery delivery and rigging with the stand build is critical.

We design for all of it — engineered machinery bases, dedicated power, safe circulation routes and comfortable meeting areas — and we coordinate the build-up so your machinery lands, rigs and runs on schedule. Planning this at the design stage keeps a machinery-heavy stand safe, compliant and fully operational from the first morning.

Stand options and pricing

We build every Gulf Print & Pack format. Upgraded shell-scheme packages suit smaller exhibitors needing clean branding, product display and a meeting point. Custom single-storey stands give you a bespoke layout with engineered machinery staging, live-demo space and meeting areas. Double-decker stands let major manufacturers and pavilions add an upstairs meeting or hospitality floor above a working ground-floor demonstration.

Custom Gulf Print & Pack stand design and build starts from AED 1,650 per square metre, with the final figure shaped heavily by the weight and power needs of your machinery — engineered bases, reinforced flooring and load sign-off all factor in — along with size, structure, AV and branding. Every quotation is fixed and itemised, and full-service delivery gives you one accountable team from concept through dismantling.

Why print and packaging brands choose SOL Dubai

We are a Dubai exhibition stand builder with our own design studio and UAE workshop, building machinery-heavy, demonstration-led stands at DWTC including for the print and packaging sector. We understand the venue, the Informa-organised show's approval process, and the engineering and logistics of staging heavy, running equipment safely.

Clients get in-house build quality, a single accountable team and a price that holds from quotation to final invoice. For print and packaging brands demonstrating live machinery at the region's leading print event, our local presence and full-service control keep a complex, equipment-led build predictable and on budget.

Building at Dubai World Trade Centre: the rules that shape your Gulf Print & Pack stand

Gulf Print & Pack is governed by the Dubai World Trade Centre’s own technical regulations. Get them right and your stand goes up cleanly; miss a submission and you lose build time, not just money. We design to all of this from the first sketch and file the paperwork for you.

Permit to Build

Every stand needs a DWTC Stand Permit to Build (PTB) before construction. We prepare and submit it so your build is cleared to start on day one of build-up.

Height & “complex” structures

Standard custom builds work to around 4m. Taller builds and anything DWTC classes as complex — double-deckers, long spans, or stands where the travel distance to an exit exceeds 10m — trigger structural-engineer clearance through DWTC’s Organiser+ portal before the Permit to Build is released, and the engineer can halt an unsafe build on site.

Double-deckers

A two-storey stand needs certified structural calculations, a Double-Deck health-and-safety declaration, a displayed maximum-occupancy figure and code-compliant staircases — at least 1m wide with handrails, and a second staircase once an upper deck passes ~200 sqm or sits over 25m from the stairs.

Electrical power

All mains power is supplied by DWTC’s official Electrical Contractor and ordered in advance — you can’t self-wire mains. We design the scheme and order it, including 24-hour power where your stand needs it.

Rigging & suspended elements

Banners and lighting rigs hung from the hall are subject to DWTC approval and load limits and ordered ahead of tenancy. We prepare and file the rigging submission on time.

Fixings & fire-safe materials

Nothing may be fixed to the floors, walls, ceilings or structural steel, and all materials must be fire-retardant — Perspex is prohibited (Lexan and Macralon are accepted). We complete and inspect finishes in our workshop, so the on-site crew assembles an approved build.

Accreditation & deadlines

Every contractor needs a DWTC Contractor+ digital badge and PPE is mandatory. Structural, rigging and electrical submissions run weeks ahead of build-up, and late orders attract surcharges — we manage the badges and the deadlines.

01

Permit to Build gates everything — file the structural calcs early

At DWTC nothing gets built without a Permit to Build, and for any complex or double-deck stand that permit depends on structural calculations clearing the DWTC engineer. We submit on Organiser+ the week the design is signed off — a late structural file, not the build, is what most often delays a stand.

02

Mains power is DWTC’s to supply — order it, don’t wire it

All mains electrical comes from DWTC’s official contractor and is ordered in advance. We book power — including 24-hour supply where a stand needs it — at the advance rate so nothing is sitting dead on opening morning.

03

Finish in the workshop — Perspex won’t pass

Only fire-retardant materials are allowed and Perspex is specifically prohibited (we use Lexan or Macralon). We complete and inspect every finish at our workshop, so the on-site crew assembles an approved build instead of fabricating in the hall.

04

Lock the slot early

DWTC’s calendar is packed, so build-up slots, rigging and power book out and late orders cost more. We secure your space-only window and order services at the advance rate.

Common mistakes, in order of frequency

  1. An oversized logo on the back wall that crowds out the one-line proposition a buyer reads in three seconds.
  2. The same graphic on the front and side panels of an inline stand — the aisle-facing side panel is your most wasted surface.
  3. A counter or sign at the very front that blocks the sightline into the stand and stops buyers stepping in.
  4. Under-ordering power — no 24-hour supply for fridges, screens or live demos, so the stand isn’t ready on opening morning.
  5. Leaving structural, rigging and electrical orders until after the venue deadlines and paying avoidable surcharges.
FAQ

Gulf Print & Pack stand questions, answered

Real answers with real numbers — including the venue’s build rules. Click any question to expand.

When is the next Gulf Print & Pack?
Gulf Print & Pack is a biennial show — it runs every two years — organised by Informa Markets at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The 15th edition takes place from 28 to 30 September 2026, and the following edition is expected in 2028. Because it is biennial, there is no 2027 edition; if you are planning ahead, 2026 is the current edition and 2028 the next. The show covers the full print and packaging value chain, from commercial and package printing to labels, digital textiles, machinery, materials and software, with live machinery demonstrations a central feature. SOL Dubai builds at DWTC and can confirm design and logistics implications once your stand space is allocated.
How much does a Gulf Print & Pack stand cost in Dubai?
Custom Gulf Print & Pack stand design and build with SOL Dubai starts from AED 1,650 per square metre. Because this is a machinery-led show, the final figure is shaped heavily by the weight and power needs of any equipment you stage — engineered bases, reinforced flooring, three-phase power and load sign-off all factor in — along with the size of your space, single-storey or double-decker structure, and AV and branding. A compact stand without machinery sits near the entry rate, while a large stand running live presses costs considerably more. We provide a fixed, fully itemised quotation once we understand your machinery and objectives, so there are no surprises later.
Can you build stands for live, running machinery?
Yes — it is core to our print-and-packaging work. Running machinery needs proper engineering, not improvisation: load-bearing bases and reinforced flooring rated for heavy presses and converting lines, correctly rated three-phase power and cable management, and safe visitor circulation designed around the equipment. We prepare and submit the structural, electrical and heavy-load drawings DWTC requires, and we coordinate the build-up so your machinery is delivered, rigged and running on schedule alongside the stand build. We plan all of this at the design stage so your live demonstrations run safely and reliably from the first morning of the show through to the last.
Is Gulf Print & Pack held every year?
No — Gulf Print & Pack is a biennial event, held once every two years at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The current edition is the 15th, running 28 to 30 September 2026, and the next is expected in 2028. This matters for planning: if you exhibit, you are committing to a two-year cycle rather than an annual one, which makes a well-built, potentially reusable stand a sound investment. SOL Dubai can build a custom stand designed to be re-skinned and reconfigured for the following edition, protecting your investment across the biennial cycle. We will advise on whether a reusable build suits your objectives and budget when we discuss your brief.
How tall can my Gulf Print & Pack stand be, and do I need structural approval?
Standard custom builds work to around 4m. Taller builds and complex structures — double-deckers, long spans, or stands where the travel distance to an exit exceeds 10m — need structural-engineer clearance through DWTC’s Organiser+ portal before your Permit to Build is released. We prepare and submit the full package in-house.
Who handles the Dubai World Trade Centre permits and approvals?
We do, start to finish. Every stand at DWTC needs a Stand Permit to Build, and complex or double-deck stands need structural calculations cleared by the DWTC engineer first. We prepare the drawings, submit on Organiser+ and manage the approval so you don’t deal with the venue’s technical desk.
Can I get power and 24-hour supply for my stand?
All mains power at DWTC is supplied by the venue’s official Electrical Contractor and ordered in advance — you can’t self-wire mains. We design the scheme and order it, including 24-hour supply for fridges, screens or demos.
Can I hang a banner or lighting rig above my stand?
Yes, but suspended rigging is subject to venue approval and load limits and must be ordered ahead of tenancy. We design within the limits and file the rigging order on time so it’s approved without a last-minute surcharge.
How much does a Gulf Print & Pack stand cost?
A full-service Gulf Print & Pack stand starts from AED 950/sqm for a modular build, AED 1,650/sqm for a bespoke custom stand, and AED 2,400/sqm and up for large or double-decker builds. Every quote is fixed and all-inclusive with a free 3D concept.
When is Gulf Print & Pack and how early should I book?
Gulf Print & Pack returns in 2027 (exact dates to be confirmed). Because the best stand positions and production slots go early, we recommend starting 8–14 weeks ahead — earlier for a large or double-decker build.
What’s included in a full-service Gulf Print & Pack stand?
Everything to get you show-ready on one quote: custom 3D design, in-house fabrication and pre-build approval, full graphics, delivery to Dubai World Trade Centre, install and dismantle, the DWTC Permit to Build and H&S paperwork, electrical and rigging ordered on your behalf, and a dedicated project manager.
Do you build double-decker stands at Dubai World Trade Centre?
Yes — double-deckers are a specialism. A two-storey stand roughly adds 1.5 times your usable space with an upstairs lounge or meeting floor, and needs certified structural calculations, a displayed maximum-occupancy figure and code-compliant staircases (a Double-Deck H&S form and DWTC structural sign-off). We engineer, certify and build it in-house.
Do you provide on-site support during Gulf Print & Pack?
Yes. Our team is on call across all show days for anything from a graphic touch-up to an electrical or AV fix, and larger stands get a dedicated on-site project lead.
What happens to the stand after Gulf Print & Pack?
We dismantle and clear the space, and can store reusable elements for your next edition and refresh the graphics — so you’re not paying to rebuild from scratch each year.
