Intersec Dubai 2027 at a glance

Intersec is the world's leading trade fair for security, safety and fire protection, organised by Messe Frankfurt Middle East at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). The 2027 edition takes place 12–14 January 2027. Running since 1999, the show fills more than a dozen halls with over 1,400 exhibitors and draws 50,000-plus visitors from more than 140 countries.

Intersec covers the full spectrum of the sector: commercial and perimeter security, cybersecurity, homeland and critical-infrastructure security, fire and rescue, safety and health, and smart-city solutions, with the MENA security market projected to reach over $150 billion by 2030. Its audience is the sector's decision-makers — government officials, integrators, critical-infrastructure operators and enterprise buyers. It is frequently held alongside Light + Intelligent Building Middle East, broadening the built-environment audience.

Security stands are demonstration-led and credibility-driven. As a Dubai-based stand builder, SOL Dubai builds at DWTC as our home venue, designing Intersec stands that demonstrate technology convincingly with full in-house control of design, fabrication and installation.

What an Intersec stand has to do

This is a technical sourcing show where buyers evaluate security and safety systems for real deployment. The stand has to demonstrate technology convincingly — cameras, access control, fire systems, cyber and command platforms — ideally live, and present it clearly enough for technical evaluation. With government and critical-infrastructure buyers in the audience, the stand also has to project the seriousness and reliability a security supplier needs.

Beyond demonstration, Intersec is where significant procurement conversations happen, so meeting space is important. The strongest stands combine clear, working technology demonstration with comfortable, sometimes private meeting space for the high-value conversations security deals involve. We design for both the demonstration and the negotiation.

Our Intersec stand build process

Every Dubai project runs through our disciplined eight-stage process, handled start to finish in-house:

  1. Discovery and brief — we map your technology, live-demonstration and screen needs, meeting requirements and budget, and confirm hall, stand number and dimensions at DWTC.
  2. Concept and 3D design — photorealistic visuals and a floor plan balancing technology demonstration, branding and meeting space.
  3. Costing and approval — a fixed, fully itemised quotation covering structure, power, AV and logistics.
  4. Venue approvals and technical drawings — structural and electrical submissions prepared for DWTC approval.
  5. Fabrication — structure, demonstration areas, joinery and branding built and quality-checked in our own workshop.
  6. Pre-build and QA — trial assembly, AV and demonstration integration and full testing before show build-up.
  7. On-site installation — supervised build at DWTC during official build-up, handed over show-ready.
  8. Show-day support and dismantling — standby team on call, then clean dismantling and clearance.

Materials and construction

Security and safety stands combine technical demonstration with a credible, professional finish. We build with timber-framed custom walls, tension-fabric and acrylic lightboxes and illuminated 3D logos for a precise, corporate look; demonstration zones with correctly rated power and cable management for live systems; and screens and video walls to present command platforms, analytics and cyber capability clearly.

Where private discussion is needed, we build enclosed or semi-enclosed meeting rooms with proper separation. Raised platform flooring conceals the substantial power and data cabling security demonstrations require, and durable, premium finishes give the stand the reliable, government-credible feel the audience expects.

Security and safety stand requirements

Intersec exhibitors carry specific needs: live demonstration of security and safety systems with reliable power and data; screens and video walls for command platforms, analytics and cyber; clear, credible technical presentation; and meeting space — often private — for high-value government and enterprise conversations. A professional, reliable-looking finish matters with this decision-maker audience.

We design for all of it — powered demonstration zones, screen and video-wall integration, clear technical display and private meeting space — and as a Dubai builder working at DWTC as our home venue, we handle the approvals, fabrication and installation in-house. If you also exhibit at the co-located Light + Intelligent Building show, we can coordinate both as one accountable service.

Stand options and pricing

We build every Intersec format. Upgraded shell-scheme packages suit smaller exhibitors needing clean branding, a demonstration point and a meeting area. Custom single-storey stands give you a bespoke layout with live-demonstration zones, video walls and meeting space. Double-decker stands let major security brands and integrators add an upstairs meeting or hospitality floor above an open demonstration area — valuable for hosting government and enterprise meetings.

Custom Intersec stand design and build starts from AED 1,650 per square metre, with the final figure shaped by the scale of live demonstration and AV, size, structure, private meeting space and branding. Every quotation is fixed and itemised, and full-service delivery gives you one accountable team handling design, build and DWTC logistics from concept through dismantling.

Why security brands choose SOL Dubai

We are a Dubai-based exhibition stand builder working at DWTC as our home venue, handling Intersec stands start to finish — design, fabrication, the venue approval process, AV integration and on-site installation. Demonstration-led, AV-heavy security stands with private meeting space are exactly the kind of work our in-house team is set up for.

Clients get in-house build quality, a single accountable team, and a price that holds from quotation to final invoice. For security, safety and fire-protection brands at the world's leading event in the sector, our local presence and full-service control keep a demonstration-critical build predictable and on budget.

Building at Dubai World Trade Centre: the rules that shape your Intersec Dubai 2027 stand

Intersec Dubai 2027 is governed by the Dubai World Trade Centre’s own technical regulations. Get them right and your stand goes up cleanly; miss a submission and you lose build time, not just money. We design to all of this from the first sketch and file the paperwork for you.

Permit to Build

Every stand needs a DWTC Stand Permit to Build (PTB) before construction. We prepare and submit it so your build is cleared to start on day one of build-up.

Height & “complex” structures

Standard custom builds work to around 4m. Taller builds and anything DWTC classes as complex — double-deckers, long spans, or stands where the travel distance to an exit exceeds 10m — trigger structural-engineer clearance through DWTC’s Organiser+ portal before the Permit to Build is released, and the engineer can halt an unsafe build on site.

Double-deckers

A two-storey stand needs certified structural calculations, a Double-Deck health-and-safety declaration, a displayed maximum-occupancy figure and code-compliant staircases — at least 1m wide with handrails, and a second staircase once an upper deck passes ~200 sqm or sits over 25m from the stairs.

Electrical power

All mains power is supplied by DWTC’s official Electrical Contractor and ordered in advance — you can’t self-wire mains. We design the scheme and order it, including 24-hour power where your stand needs it.

Rigging & suspended elements

Banners and lighting rigs hung from the hall are subject to DWTC approval and load limits and ordered ahead of tenancy. We prepare and file the rigging submission on time.

Fixings & fire-safe materials

Nothing may be fixed to the floors, walls, ceilings or structural steel, and all materials must be fire-retardant — Perspex is prohibited (Lexan and Macralon are accepted). We complete and inspect finishes in our workshop, so the on-site crew assembles an approved build.

Accreditation & deadlines

Every contractor needs a DWTC Contractor+ digital badge and PPE is mandatory. Structural, rigging and electrical submissions run weeks ahead of build-up, and late orders attract surcharges — we manage the badges and the deadlines.

01

Permit to Build gates everything — file the structural calcs early

At DWTC nothing gets built without a Permit to Build, and for any complex or double-deck stand that permit depends on structural calculations clearing the DWTC engineer. We submit on Organiser+ the week the design is signed off — a late structural file, not the build, is what most often delays a stand.

02

Mains power is DWTC’s to supply — order it, don’t wire it

All mains electrical comes from DWTC’s official contractor and is ordered in advance. We book power — including 24-hour supply where a stand needs it — at the advance rate so nothing is sitting dead on opening morning.

03

Finish in the workshop — Perspex won’t pass

Only fire-retardant materials are allowed and Perspex is specifically prohibited (we use Lexan or Macralon). We complete and inspect every finish at our workshop, so the on-site crew assembles an approved build instead of fabricating in the hall.

04

Lock the slot early

DWTC’s calendar is packed, so build-up slots, rigging and power book out and late orders cost more. We secure your space-only window and order services at the advance rate.

Common mistakes, in order of frequency

  1. An oversized logo on the back wall that crowds out the one-line proposition a buyer reads in three seconds.
  2. The same graphic on the front and side panels of an inline stand — the aisle-facing side panel is your most wasted surface.
  3. A counter or sign at the very front that blocks the sightline into the stand and stops buyers stepping in.
  4. Under-ordering power — no 24-hour supply for fridges, screens or live demos, so the stand isn’t ready on opening morning.
  5. Leaving structural, rigging and electrical orders until after the venue deadlines and paying avoidable surcharges.
FAQ

Intersec Dubai 2027 stand questions, answered

Real answers with real numbers — including the venue’s build rules. Click any question to expand.

When and where is Intersec Dubai 2027?
Intersec Dubai 2027 takes place from 12 to 14 January 2027 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), organised by Messe Frankfurt Middle East. Running since 1999, it is the world's leading trade fair for security, safety and fire protection, filling more than a dozen halls with over 1,400 exhibitors and 50,000-plus visitors from 140-plus countries. It covers commercial and perimeter security, cybersecurity, homeland security, fire and rescue, safety and smart-city solutions, and is frequently held alongside Light + Intelligent Building Middle East. As a Dubai-based builder working at DWTC as our home venue, SOL Dubai handles your Intersec stand start to finish.
Can you build live demonstration areas for security systems?
Yes — it is central to an Intersec stand, because security and safety systems sell best when shown working. We design demonstration zones with reliable, correctly rated power and data cabling for cameras, access control, fire systems and command platforms, and integrate screens and video walls to present analytics, cyber capability and live feeds clearly. We test everything during pre-build in our workshop before installation, and a technical standby team stays with you through the show. Where you need confidential conversations, we build private or semi-private meeting rooms with proper separation. We plan the demonstration and meeting balance with you at the design stage so both work on a busy floor.
Do you also build at the co-located Light + Intelligent Building show?
Yes. Intersec is frequently held alongside Light + Intelligent Building Middle East at DWTC, both organised by Messe Frankfurt, and we build for both. If you exhibit at each, a single team can coordinate your design, logistics and budget across the two shows, keeping your branding consistent and removing the complexity of managing separate contractors. This is useful for companies whose products span security and smart-building or lighting. As a Dubai builder working at DWTC as our home venue, we handle the approvals, fabrication and installation for each as one accountable service, so your presence across the co-located shows is coordinated.
How much does an Intersec stand cost?
Custom Intersec stand design and build with SOL Dubai starts from AED 1,650 per square metre. The final figure is shaped by the scale of live demonstration and AV — powered demo zones, screens and video walls — along with the size of your space, single-storey or double-decker structure, any private meeting rooms and branding. A compact demonstration stand sits near the entry rate, while a large integrator's stand with extensive demonstration, video walls and a briefing suite costs more. We provide a fixed, fully itemised quotation once we understand your technology and objectives, and because we design, build and install ourselves, the figure you approve is the figure you pay.
How tall can my Intersec Dubai 2027 stand be, and do I need structural approval?
Standard custom builds work to around 4m. Taller builds and complex structures — double-deckers, long spans, or stands where the travel distance to an exit exceeds 10m — need structural-engineer clearance through DWTC’s Organiser+ portal before your Permit to Build is released. We prepare and submit the full package in-house.
Who handles the Dubai World Trade Centre permits and approvals?
We do, start to finish. Every stand at DWTC needs a Stand Permit to Build, and complex or double-deck stands need structural calculations cleared by the DWTC engineer first. We prepare the drawings, submit on Organiser+ and manage the approval so you don’t deal with the venue’s technical desk.
Can I get power and 24-hour supply for my stand?
All mains power at DWTC is supplied by the venue’s official Electrical Contractor and ordered in advance — you can’t self-wire mains. We design the scheme and order it, including 24-hour supply for fridges, screens or demos.
Can I hang a banner or lighting rig above my stand?
Yes, but suspended rigging is subject to venue approval and load limits and must be ordered ahead of tenancy. We design within the limits and file the rigging order on time so it’s approved without a last-minute surcharge.
How much does a Intersec Dubai 2027 stand cost?
A full-service Intersec Dubai 2027 stand starts from AED 950/sqm for a modular build, AED 1,650/sqm for a bespoke custom stand, and AED 2,400/sqm and up for large or double-decker builds. Every quote is fixed and all-inclusive with a free 3D concept.
When is Intersec Dubai 2027 and how early should I book?
Intersec Dubai 2027 runs 12–14 Jan 2027. Because the best stand positions and production slots go early, we recommend starting 8–14 weeks ahead — earlier for a large or double-decker build.
What’s included in a full-service Intersec Dubai 2027 stand?
Everything to get you show-ready on one quote: custom 3D design, in-house fabrication and pre-build approval, full graphics, delivery to Dubai World Trade Centre, install and dismantle, the DWTC Permit to Build and H&S paperwork, electrical and rigging ordered on your behalf, and a dedicated project manager.
Do you build double-decker stands at Dubai World Trade Centre?
Yes — double-deckers are a specialism. A two-storey stand roughly adds 1.5 times your usable space with an upstairs lounge or meeting floor, and needs certified structural calculations, a displayed maximum-occupancy figure and code-compliant staircases (a Double-Deck H&S form and DWTC structural sign-off). We engineer, certify and build it in-house.
Do you provide on-site support during Intersec Dubai 2027?
Yes. Our team is on call across all show days for anything from a graphic touch-up to an electrical or AV fix, and larger stands get a dedicated on-site project lead.
What happens to the stand after Intersec Dubai 2027?
We dismantle and clear the space, and can store reusable elements for your next edition and refresh the graphics — so you’re not paying to rebuild from scratch each year.
